The design is based on a pair of parallel prisms that support a third transverse prism, opening out to form a welcoming gesture towards the citizen. The composition forms an “H”, with its extents relating to the boundaries of the building block. The void that forms the entrance results from the particular placement of the building volumes and acts as to facilitate pedestrian movement through the building, towards the Cultural Sports Center, connecting in an organic way two very different regions of the town. The intention of this study was for the proposed building to embody the weight and importance that its role truly demands, creating a building of a simple geometry and retention; and most importantly, a useful building for the organization of the urban environment and its residents.
